Plant Care tips

Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)

Plant Care

Pothos is an easy-care plant that thrives in bright, indirect light, but can also tolerate lower light conditions.

Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, as it may scorch the leaves.

Water when the top few centimetres of the growing medium feel dry. If grown in a self-watering or hydroponic setup, ensure roots are not completely submerged without proper aeration.

Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and help the plant photosynthesize efficiently.

Trim leggy vines to encourage fuller, bushier growth.

Pruning & Propagation

Snip stems just below a node (where leaves emerge) to maintain shape.

Stem cuttings can be rooted easily in water and replanted.

Signs to Watch For

Yellow leaves may indicate overwatering.

Long gaps between leaves often suggest insufficient light

🌸 Polka Dot Begonia (Begonia maculata)

Plant Care

Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sun can burn the leaves, while too little light may reduce spotting and growth.

Enjoys moderate humidity and good air circulation.

Allow the growing medium to dry slightly between waterings. Avoid soggy conditions, which can lead to root rot.

Feed regularly during active growth to support its striking foliage and flowers.

Rotate the plant occasionally to promote even growth.

Pruning & Maintenance

Pinch back growing tips to encourage a fuller shape.

Remove older or damaged leaves promptly.

Stake taller stems if they become top-heavy.

Signs to Watch For

Brown leaf edges may indicate low humidity.

Drooping stems can signal inconsistent watering.

🧀 Swiss Cheese Vine (Monstera adansonii)

Plant Care

Thrives in bright, indirect light.

Water when the top layer of the growing medium begins to dry.

Appreciates moderate to high humidity.

If plan to climb, provide a moss pole, trellis, or support structure for climbing, which helps develop larger leaves, else trim to main foliage.

Clean leaves periodically to keep them healthy and attractive.

Pruning & Maintenance

Trim long vines to control size and encourage branching.

Pruned stems can be propagated easily from node cuttings.

Signs to Watch For

Yellow leaves may indicate overwatering.

Small leaves with few holes ("Swiss cheese" fenestrations) often indicate insufficient light or lack of support for climbing.
